Quality and Inventory Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Logistics Operations Americas is part of GTO and has approximately 1,000 employees in more than 20 locations within the region. Our job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands. The scope for Logistics Services includes making sure material is delivered to the production facilities, packaging is available, vehicles are distributed to the dealers, and that management of material, warehouses and distribution ensures the availability of parts everywhere in the world. We have exciting opportunities for the right individuals at our 1,000,000 SF central Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS. The Byhalia DC is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Memphis, TN.
Quality and Inventory Supervisor will report directly to the Quality Manager.
Quality and Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Quality Audits at Inbound and Outbound Areas and Stock Taking activities in all shifts at CDC Byhalia.
+ Responsible for verifying that Quality and Inventory Policies are maintained throughout CDC
+ Led and Manage Quality and Inventory Personnel
+ Develop and maintain Procedures and Work Instructions for all tasks within Quality and Inventory
+ Measure and report performance of Quality and Inventory Activities
+ Recommend measures to improve Quality and Inventory Performance and work with other departments to address systemic issues
+ Continuously improve Quality and Inventory thru the use of Lean Concepts (VPS)
+ Implement company policies and enforce safety regulations
Main activities and responsibilities
+ Led (technically and disciplinary) a group of quality and stock taking personnel with defined functions (perform quality audits at inbound and outbound area and perform stock taking activities in all shifts)
+ Schedule work assignments, show employees how to properly operate equipment and systems and mentor or instruct new employees
+ Manage day to day activities and monitor work in progress to ensure it is done according to proper procedures
+ Prepare procedures and work instructions, keep them updated and train on them to all affected personnel
+ Assure cross training of personnel in all quality and inventory activities
+ Maintain Daily, Weekly and Monthly Quality and Inventory Reports
+ Perform a confirmation process in quality department in a weekly basis
+ Works to identify systemic issues to be addressed from performance reports and supports definition of corrective actions
+ Meet with supervisors from other department to confer and coordinate activities, to solve problems and resolve issues using Problem Solving Methods
+ Implement VPS requirements as required by the position including 5S?s Audits, Monitor and Encourage Idea Generation, Perform Internal Audits, etc?
+ Follow up other company procedures and safety regulations as is required
+ Identify opportunities for continual improvement in processes and actively participate in implementation of corrective actions to achieve improvements where applicable
+ Ensure that team members have the necessary resources and training to accomplish departmental goals
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
+ Associate Degree or 4+ years of experience in similar positions in a Logistics Manufacturing Environment
+ Proven experience in creating, reviewing procedures and work instructions
+ Proven experience managing and leading people
+ Previous experience in Quality Inspection and/or Inventory Control Activities

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
